The Surface Finishers Educational Association will host an online presentation on April 13 on “Parts Handling In Electroplating - Rack, Barrel, Hoist, Hand-Wire.”
The presentation will be delivered by Alicia Moreno, who is the owner and co-owner of two metal finishing companies.
In metal finishing, “parts handling” requires attention and instruction, Moreno says.
“So many variables must be noted, such as proper electro-current contact, maximum loading capacity, drop-age prevention, racking marks, and personnel training,” she says. “There are many tools used in the electroplating industry; today we will discuss pin-racking, portable barrel (tumbler), automated hoist systems, and hand-wire for prototype or custom orders.”
As one of the few women in the electroplating and electrochemistry industry (decorative chrome plating, powder coating, and anodizing), Moreno has more than 20 years of experience. She was featured in vehicle magazines under “Tech Talk,” and she is a member of the Surface Finishers Educational Association and the Association of Women in the Metal Industry.
The presentation will be on April 13 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. To register, visit https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwtcuivrTMqEtwxFpkN2Qm4QhPZjqpffC95
