The history of Techmetals, Inc. starts with Dan Brockman and John Stickel, who while in college founded Miami Precision Chrome in 1968. After Stickel’s departure in the mid 1970’s, Brockman was joined by longtime friend Mike Franz. With increasing demand for metal plating, a new and larger facility was necessary. Consequently, the facility was their home for the next 11 years. Soon after, they would introduce an Electroless Nickel Division – Electroless Nickel of Dayton Company. In 1982, Techmetals, Inc. came to be — merging all the metal finishing operations under a single name. Since then, the company has grown from 10 – 12 employees and 80,000 square feet to the current 160,000 square foot facility. Additionally, the employee count resides at around 200. This growth is a direct result of our specialty areas, which include difficult jobs, large parts, specification compliance, small medical parts, aerospace and defense requirements for example.
