Erik Weyls was appointed Executive Vice President for North America for Socomore’s surface preparation, treatment, and coatings unit.
Weyls joins Socomore with over 30 years of experience in the specialty chemical industry, including the last three years with MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions and 14 years with Coventya, where he was CEO when MacDermid Enthone purchased the company.
Weyls says he is “thrilled to join Socomore in North America and work side by side with a world class team of professionals. We have made some exciting acquisitions that provide platforms into new and growing markets.”
Weyls started his career in 1988 with MacDermid, spending the majority of his time managing various businesses in Germany and the UK. He joined the French group Coventya SAS in 2007 as an executive and one of its lead investors, ultimately becoming CEO. Coventya was sold to Element Solutions in late 2021.
Weyls is a graduate of Hiram College with degrees in Economics and German Languages.
