Corey Smith is the new Director of Sales at Micron Industries in Garland, Texas.
Micron CEO Guy Saenz says Smith brings expertise and extensive experience in the metal finishing industry.
Smith began his career as Sales Manager at Preferred Industrial Painting, which he eventually purchased and oversaw sales and human resources, leading to significant growth for the company.
Smith helped acquire Preferred E-Coating in Terrell, Texas 2015, merging ecoating, powder coating, and wet painting to form Preferred Industries. He expanded Preferred Industries into the largest coating facility in Texas with over 250,000 square feet of coating space.
Preferred Industries was sold to AZZ Surface Technologies in 2019.
Smith says he is eager to help Micron Industries grow as well.
“Being selected was a great honor from my boss and mentor Guy Saenz to create the most effective sales force in the plating industry known thus far,” he says. “I see a lot in Micron as we become a multi-brand name in the finishing world. I look forward to growing Micron Industries into a finishing powerhouse.”
Smith attended the Dale Carnegie School of Business and Sales and married Destiny Smith in 2008. They have two children.
Saenz says Smith brings strong leadership, is motivated and high-performing, is strategic thinking-oriented, and works collaboratively to maintain and grow relationships that drive value.

Micron Industries is a metal finishing and electroplating company that has been in business for over 50 years. It began in 1971 and operates out of a 70,000-square-foot facility in Garland.
