Deoxidizer DX-38L Now Compatible with Chemeon eTCP Powder

Chemeon and Miles Chemical announce that the deoxidizer DX-38L offered by Miles Chemical has undergone and passed rigorous testing with Chemeon eTCP at Chemeon’s laboratory in Nevada.

Ted VentrescaTed Ventresca“eTCP is the safer, non-carcinogenic replacement for Hexavalent Chromium or CrVI/Sodium Dichromate,” says Ted Ventresca, the President, and Chief Operating Officer of Chemeon Surface Technology. “The military-specified solution for use as a conversion coating/passivate on aluminum and light metals is renowned for its consistent performance on 2024 aluminum.”

Ventresca says that eTCP is the only MIL-DTL trivalent applied at room temperature, with colorization providing visual verification that parts are fully coated and protected. Patented eTCP has set a new standard for corrosion protection, superior adhesion, energy savings, and, most importantly, applicator safety.

“The positive test results confirm DX-38L is compatible with eTCP powder on 2024-T3 when processed as per TDS at room temperature (72°F),” Ventresca says, adding that the resulting conversion coating will be IAW MIL-DTL-5541F and MIL-DTL-81706B.

DX-38L with eTCP is a recommended stack that includes cleaner for optimal processing, consistent 2024 and all aluminum alloy conformance testing, and superior performance for critical MIL-DTL applications.

Miles Chemical is an official reseller/distributor of Chemeon eTCP and the sole source manufacturer for DX-38L. Contact Miles Chemical representatives to review the full report, test results, and recommended application parameters.

Miles Chemical and Chemeon are available to discuss and assist a facility’s implementation, and if needed, conversation or presentation with OEMs or part suppliers to assist in implementing the DX-38l and eTCP stack as a replacement to hexavalent chrome or for a deviation or allowance to a legacy specification.
