Ronatec C2C Acquires Metalx Specialty Products

Metalx Specialty Products Inc. of Lenoir, North Carolina has been acquired by Ronatec C2C Inc.

Ronatec and Metalx have worked together for over 25 years, and it was decided to move forward and unite the two companies.

Ronatec C2C, a privately owned company, has been in business since 1978 and is an industrial chemical manufacturer and distribution company. It is primarily involved in the metal finishing industry as well as all the related process equipment within those industries. Their specialized products are used in the plating, aerospace, automotive, electronic, defense, hardware, medical, naval, plumbing and energy industries.

Ronatec and MetalX hold MRO/BAC approvals and product deviations on various electroless nickel and metallic stripping products.

Metalx Specialty Products was founded by Barry and Gail Coffey in 1980 in Lenoir, North Carolina. Barry invented a number of environmentally safe non-toxic metal stripping products that have been a staple in the Metal Finishing Industry across the United States for 40 years. These strippers make up the B-9, B-929 and Cufix-E family of plating strippers used from coast to coast. Marty Waters has been the CEO and President of Metalx Specialty Products for the past 14 years and will be working on all aspects of the transition.

"Metalx Specialty with Marty's leadership, is an excellent fit for the Ronatec brand name,” says Shawn Wetherald, CEO and President of Ronatec C2C. “Together our two companies make a strong partnership to grow both our brands through the synergy of increased marketing, product knowledge and an effective sales and existing distribution system."

James Wetherald, Vice President of Ronatec C2C, says he is looking forward to bringing the distribution network of these two companies into focus to build increased market penetration throughout the United States and elsewhere in the world.

“Ronatec will be expanding its blending and warehouse locations to support the MetalX brand,” James says. “We plan on adding a number of products to the MetalX product line."

Joe Zabielski, Technical Director of Ronatec, says the acquisition made sense because both companies share similar business values and principles that will lead to continued growth and customer support

The aerospace approvals of MetalX products are extremely interesting to the current MRO market,” Zabielski says.

The Ronatec C2C acquisition of Metalx Specialty Products, Inc. is a significant milestone for our proud history," Waters says. "We are all looking forward to this exciting new chapter.
