Metal Finishing Technologies Earns Nadcap Accreditation for Nickel Sulfamate

Metal Finishing Technologies In Bristol, Connecticut, says the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) has officially accredited the company’s nickel sulfamate plating processes.

“We offer many coating and finishing options, and our team works closely with customers’ designers and engineers to ensure that we implement the perfect finish for each application,” says Peter Mirabello, MFT’s president and CEO. “And in the aerospace and defense industries, our customers are constantly looking for superior performance from their suppliers. This Nadcap accreditation shows that we are committed to continuous improvement and that our nickel sulfamate plating processes meet our customers’ exacting plating requirements.”

Nickel sulfamate plating provides certain unique qualities, says Skip Griffin, MFT’s General Manager.

“The plate itself is 99.9% pure nickel, producing unparalleled machinability, ductility, tensile strength, and solderability. And because our plating process is both high speed and high quality, the result is a cost-effective coating solution for our customers.”

Nickel sulfamate plating is an especially important factor in the aerospace, food service, and metal-forming industries, where it is frequently used for dimensional corrections (as a build-up coating for resurfacing worn parts), abrasion and wear resistance, high-efficiency coating and corrosion protection. It is also used as an undercoat for chromium. These unique qualities are helping MFT’s customers to improve their own products, and the Nadcap® accreditation provides assurance that their products are plated to the highest quality standards in the industry.
