NASF Michigan Midwest Seminar is September 17-19

Registration is open for the NASF Michigan chapter Midwest Seminar to be held September 17-19 at the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island, Michigan.

The event starts at noon on Sept. 17 with a welcoming lunch, followed by speakers from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A cocktail reception will be held at 6:00 p.m., with a dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday’s events start with breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and then speakers until lunch at 1:00 p.m. There is an option for golf afterward. Sunday’s events include a breakfast and another option to golf.

Speakers include:

  • Beth Gotthelf, Shareholder, Butzel Long/Vice President of MINASF: Beth will be our seminar moderator! Serving as general counsel to the Michigan Chapter of NASF since 1990, Beth will also give the latest update on policy.
  • Jeff Hannapel, Vice President Regulatory Affairs, The Policy Group/NASF: Jeff will give us the most recent update from Capitol Hill!
  • Carla Davidson, Regional Pretreatment Specialist, Emerging Pollutants Section, Water Resources Division (WRD), Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE): EGLE WRD is a national leader in regulating PFOS, which is historically a component of fume suppressants used by certain chrome platers, discharged to surface waters. Carla will provide an update on progress reducing PFOS discharges to surface waters, studies on fume suppressants and identified sources of PFOS, and regulation of storm water runoff from industrial facilities such as chrome platers.
