Winona Powder Coating in Etna Green, Indiana, received a $54,399 state grant that helped pay part of the cost of new equipment.
The company worked with Conexus Indiana, Indiana Economic Development Corp., and the Next Level Manufacturing Institute to get the grant to help pay for the cost of a Gema Magic powder coating system that was recently installed.
Conexus Indiana collaborates with businesses and other partners to maximize Indiana’s economic potential while helping Hoosiers find rewarding careers in rapidly evolving industries. Indiana Economic Development Corporation is charged with growing the state economy and driving economic development. Next Level Manufacturing Institute operates a fund to help Hoosier manufacturers adopt smart technologies such as Winona Powder Coating’s new Gema Magic Powder Coating System.
Winona CEO Jamie Visker says the new powder coating system is more efficient and cuts their powder consumption by around $20,000 a month.
“It brings us quicker color changes and clean-up, reduces the amount of powder we use, prevents powder waste, and really increases our ability to recycle,” Visker says. “At the same time, we added a new reverse osmosis water treatment system for much-improved water quality.”
Winona Powder Coating provides powder coating and electrocoating services for a wide range of industries. It is ISO 9001, UL certified, and complies with automotive, agriculture, and military specifications.
