Beacon Industries Edinburgh, Indiana, has acquired Electro Prime Group’s industrial coatings facility in Rossford, Ohio.
Electro Prime electrocoats and powder coats metal parts for the automotive industry.
“We believe that Beacon’s acquisition of Electro Prime’s Coatings Division will be positive for Electro Prime’s employees, customers, and vendors,” says EPG Owners Kevin Meade and John Lauffer.
Some of EPG’s management and administrative staff will join the Beacon team, and others will remain with the company. Meade and Lauffer say they intend to focus on operating EPG’s automotive parts assembly business in nearby Toledo.
“The acquisition of EPG’s coating operations dovetails very nicely with Beacon’s existing coating operations in Central Indiana,” says Chris Sparks, President of Beacon Industries. “Beacon has long wished to expand its geographic footprint into Northern Ohio, with its rich history in manufacturing. This acquisition seemed a perfect opportunity to merge with a team of highly respected professionals. The massive electrocoat and powder coat production capacity better positions Beacon to service a wide spectrum of manufacturing clients, with a renewed emphasis on the automotive market.”
Beacon Industries has been around for over 30 years, supporting many manufacturing clients with ecoat and powder coating services at their two existing ISO 9001 certified locations: 80,000 square feet in Edinburgh and 60,000 square feet in New Castle, Indiana.
Beacon was founded in 1993 by M.I.T. engineering graduate Lee Breazeale, who used his engineering talents to develop several improved processes for the metal forging industry. He became an innovator with several patents registered in his name.
In 2011, Breazeale turned over the Presidency to Sparks, who was the Vice President. In 2017, the company acquired a new ecoat facility in New Castle.
