Our guest on The Finish Line is Reid Metal Finishing owner TJ Grandcolas, who has been running the Santa Ana, California company since 2018.
Reid Metal Finishing was started by his father, Jerry, in 1979. Grandcolas tells how he worked in the shop after college and then became principal owner after his father's passing in 2018 when TJ was just 33.
“At 33 years old. I was not prepared for all that happened,” he says. “I didn’t really feel like he had a lot of time to teach me and get me ready to take over the business. I learned a lot, and it was definitely a trial by fire, but I wasn’t going to let him down, and I wasn’t going let the team down here.”
