Milt Stevenson, Jr., Vice President and Technical Director at Anoplate in Syracuse, New York, was honored by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program at their annual meeting in Pittsburgh.
Stevenson, who is retiring this year, was honored with a Recognition Award by Nadcap's Chemical Processing Task Group for over 30 years of exceptional service and invaluable contributions. He was also honored by a group of Nadcap suppliers and fellow plating shop managers and owners in a farewell event.
The Recognition Award read: “In honor of your 30 years of unwavering commitment, exceptional service, and invaluable contributions to the Nadcap program. Your dedication has helped shape and strengthen the success of the program.”
The Recognition Award was signed by Nadcap Management Council members Scott Maitland, Chairperson, and Jay Solomond, the Executive Vice President and CEO of PRI, which runs the Nadcap program.
The Chemical Processing Task Group also presented Stevenson with a plaque that read: “In grateful recognition of your outstanding dedication and service to the Chemical Processing Group. Your knowledge, leadership, and support have left a lasting impact on the metal finishing industry worldwide.”
“Achieving Nadcap for chem processing is a formidable challenge, and the task group of suppliers is needed to keep subscriber expectations grounded in reality,” Stevenson says. “Participating with my fellow suppliers — many of whom I consider dear friends — has been immeasurably rewarding. Don't be surprised if I happen to show up at a future meeting.”
Nadcap is an industry-managed system that accredits specialized processes in the aerospace and defense industries. It is designed to standardize quality assurance, reduce redundant audits, and enhance process integrity by requiring technical experts from manufacturers, suppliers, and government to work together to define requirements for supplier approval. The accreditation process involves rigorous audits of various specialized processes, such as chemical processing, coatings, heat treating, and non-destructive testing, and companies must maintain certification on an annual basis.
