Northern Indiana Anodize is investing $4 million in its next growth phase, adding production equipment expected to increase anodizing capacity by 40% to 50% and improve turnaround times for manufacturers nationwide.
The Fort Wayne-based company will mark the expansion with a ribbon-cutting on October 22. The company says the project responds to increased demand from customers in architectural building products, solar and energy, and other industrial markets.
Matt RuppNIA provides sulfuric, architectural, and PTFE anodized finishes for manufacturers in architectural, solar and energy, marine, industrial, and automotive applications. Its ISO 9001-certified quality system supports the company’s commitment to consistent finishing and dependable service.
The new equipment is intended to help NIA accommodate more customer work while shortening lead times. The investment also represents a milestone in the company’s development, moving it from a small operation toward the scale of a mid-sized manufacturer.
When NIA opened in 2018, its facility stood on what had been an empty field on Bluffton Road, and its workforce numbered 17. The company has since completed three major expansions, with many original employees continuing to contribute to its growth.
The latest expansion is expected to create approximately 30 jobs. NIA is choosing to continue investing in Fort Wayne, where many of its employees, customers, and suppliers are based.
“This isn’t just NIA growing,” says Matt Rupp, CFO. “This is NIA and the community growing together,”.
Alongside the physical expansion, NIA is introducing a refreshed brand and new website to reflect the company’s evolution and its focus on engineered finishes built for performance and durability.
