The Aluminum Anodizers Council (AAC) is introducing a new podcast series aimed at educating and informing both anodizing industry professionals and anodizing end users.
The new series, Ano-Talk: All Things Anodizing, will delve into topics—as the name suggests—that cover a wealth of information on anodizing. The podcast series gives AAC another convenient way to reach its various audiences through short audio recordings focusing on a specific topic, from anodizing best practices to applications and regulatory issues to safety and beyond.
Podcasts are a popular and ever-growing medium for reaching and informing audiences. AAC plans to feature interviews with Council members and leaders, as well as those from the manufacturing industry, academia and elsewhere to inform listeners about the latest anodizing developments that may impact businesses. The Ano-Talk podcast series will appeal to those interested in how market, economic and industry forces are shaping the aluminum anodizing community and promises to enlighten and educate all who listen.
The podcast series hosts will be AAC members who are familiar with the issues that members, academia and end users want to hear. The members, who will take turns hosting various episodes, include George Oh and Nathan Sheffield of Quaker Houghton in Alpharetta, GA; Tej Patel of Techevon in Fort Mill, SC; and Mark Spencer of AaCron Anodizing in Plymouth, MN.
“Podcasts are an effective way for getting information out to people we want to reach,” said George Oh, Chemist with Quaker Houghton. “It’s easy to listen to them anywhere and on the go, unlike webinars and emails, which require you to look at a screen to get the full information.”
Topic: Air Quality Issue in California
One upcoming episode will address a concerning air quality regulatory issue that has developed in California covering emissions from anodizing operations and serve as a preview to an upcoming webinar on the subject. “This episode will be very informative to not only the finishing industry in California, but also to those in other areas of the country since it would include discussions about existing and proposed code changes that might affect them,” explained Mark Spencer, Sales Manager for AaCron Anodizing.
In this new AAC podcast series, We’re going to be talking about the benefits of anodizing, and we’re going to have a series featuring different speakers discussing various applications for aluminum anodizing or how the work of students is advancing the technology of anodizing. Podcasts are great because we can cover a lot of topics, and it’s not a class, or webinar, so we’re also going to make it fun to listen to,” said Nathan Sheffield, Chemist with Quaker Houghton
In this new podcast series, “We’re also hoping to get a much larger audience, so people in various trade professional communities like for engineers, industrial designers, specifiers and architects,” said Sheffield.
Spencer added, "We’re going to introduce you to all of the ways anodizing can help, but we’re also not just selling it – we’re going to talk about how to make anodizing work for you and your application."
