Janette Courtney from Bonnell Aluminum was elected Chairperson of the Aluminum Anodizers Council at its annual Board of Directors meeting during the Aluminum Summit in Nashville, TN.
Courtney is the Division Environmental, Health, and Safety Director of Bonnell Aluminum in Newnan, GA. This is the first time the AAC has elected a woman to the position of Chair of the association. She has been on the AAC Board of Directors since 2015 and currently chairs the Government Affairs and Advocacy Committee.
"I am honored to be the first elected female Chairperson of the Aluminum Anodizers Council," Courtney says. "Starting my career outside of this industry, I have learned a lot about anodizing aluminum and have made many friends in the industry by being an active member of the AAC. I look forward to being the Chairperson of the AAC and partnering with the great volunteers to lead this organization. I encourage other AAC members to actively engage in the Council either on committees or as future presenters at conferences."
Courtney has been with Bonnell Aluminum since 2013, first starting as the Newnan, GA plant Environmental Manager until 2016, then as Division Environmental Director until 2018, and currently as Division EHS Director. Prior to Bonnell Aluminum, she was an Environmental Consultant, managing environmental professionals, was Engineer of Record on multiple remediation projects, and consulted on assessments and remediation of contaminated sites for various clients throughout Florida.
In addition, Courtney was Petroleum Cleanup Regulatory Site Manager for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, managing more than 50 petroleum contaminated sites as a contracted regulatory representative from 2000 to 2005.
