A.M. Metal Finishing in Orlando, Florida, has promoted Colin Mirenna to Operations Manager from Powder Coating Manager.
Mirenna has been with A.M. Metal Finishing for eight years. He worked part-time for three years at AMMF while attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, but moved to full-time five years ago. He attended the Gema Powder Coating School as well as several wet finishing and anodizing seminars.
“Colin has helped us tremendously in gaining status as one of the top plating and powder coating facilities in the U.S.” says Rick Hunter, President and General Manager of AMMF. “He has a broad education in many different metal finishes, and he installed a new hydro-dipping system which we use in conjunction with our powder coating line that has been very effective.”
Hunter says Mirenna has been studying and developing masking techniques for their coating applications, whether it be creating a challenging mask model on their die plotter, or using a liquid maskant being disbursed by an automatic foot activated masking pump.
“He has already made a great start in the metal finishing business and I am sure he will develop some more unique production and improvements in the future,” Hunter says.
A.M. Metal Finishing is an approved vendor for many of Central Florida’s industrial, commercial and aerospace/defense companies including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, NASA, and Walt Disney World Co.
They have 16-foot tanks capable of anodizing Type II, Type III and chromate conversion. They also have a 20-foot booth for powder coating and many other services are offered. The average turnaround time is 3-5 business days. Expedited service is available for an additional fee. Individual and prototype runs are available on a minimum charge basis.
