The solvent cleaning plant has two flooding tanks with separate media cycles as a standard. One of these tanks can be used for conservation.

New Focus of Karl Roll: High Cleaning Quality with Low Throughput

The new Focus plant is Karl Roll´s answer to the altered demands in parts cleaning.

This cost-effective solvent cleaning plant features all the essential equipment details to meet high cleanliness standards reliably, cost-effectively, and in a way that conserves energy and resources, even when the volume of items to be cleaned is relatively low.

Transformations in industry processes lead to changes in parts cleaning. As a result, an increasing number of industries are finding themselves having to clean smaller quantities more frequently, while at the same time meeting higher cleanliness standards. The cleaning not only has to be reliable and reproducible but also very economical and resource-efficient.

For this assignment, Karl Roll has developed the new Focus. This cost-effective closed-loop solvent system impresses with an excellent value for the price and allows an entry into high-quality component cleaning even on a limited investment budget.  The compact cleaning plant takes up very little space and requires only an industrial power supply and a compressed air connection. The Focus operates under full vacuum and can be used with hydrocarbons or modified alcohols. The working chamber can take loads with dimensions of up to 565 x 365 x 250mm and a maximum weight of 50 kg.

Features Designed for a High Level Of Cleanliness

These include, among other things, two solvent tanks with separate media circulation systems and bypass filtration. These can be used for pre-cleaning and fine cleaning when very high cleanliness standards are required. Alternatively, it´s possible to use the first tank for cleaning and the second one for conservation. In both cases, two powerful pumps ensure rapid emptying of the working chamber.

Furthermore, the plant has ultrasound integrated. The frequency can be adjusted company-specific. A loading aid ensures ergonomic working conditions. At the customer’s request, the loading aid can be expanded to an automatic loading and unloading system. A barcode scanning system is available as another option for unmanned operation.

Aggregates and Processing For Energy- and Resource-Efficient Operations

The standard equipment also includes ultrasonic elements in the working chamber. They help ensure that high cleanliness standards are met in a reliable, reproducible, and resource-efficient manner. The standard equipment also includes ultrasonic elements in the working chamber. They help ensure that high cleanliness standards are met in a reliable, reproducible, and resource-efficient manner. To keep operating costs as low as possible, special attention was paid to low energy consumption when selecting system components such as vacuum pumps, heaters, and drain pumps. This results in an optimal power-to-consumption ratio. Furthermore, the plant has, like every solvent cleaning plant of this manufacturer, an integrated distillation unit for the continuous processing of the solvent.

The distilled oil is continuously removed via an automatic oil discharge system, so the solvent remains free of residual oil for a very long time. This significantly extends the service life of the cleaning medium. In addition to the energy-efficient aggregates, using the heat from the distillation unit and effectively insulating all heated media are key factors contributing to the plant’s energy-efficient operation.

A filter unit removes detached particulate contaminants. To prevent solvents from escaping into the environment during manual filter changes due to an improperly sealed filter housing, the system can be equipped with an automatic lid lock upon request. By focusing on the essential equipment features required to meet high cleanliness standards, the cost-effective Focus solvent cleaning system sets new standards for cost-effectiveness and resource consumption when dealing with low cleaning volumes. Its excellent value for money also makes this cleaning system an ideal solution for the demanding cleaning of small parts.
