Pioneer Metal Finishing Donates $5,700 to MI Cancer Group

Pioneer Metal Finishing Michigan location selected Ribbons of Monroe as its 2022 fundraiser recipient.

Each year, the Monroe business dedicates its fundraising efforts to local nonprofits in order to support the community. The business recently presented a check for $5,700 to Ribbons of Monroe, 15195 S. Dixie Highway.

The Monroe County-based nonprofit organization provides support and services for the 30,000 plus Monroe County residents that either have had or are currently facing a cancer diagnosis. Services are also extended to their family members and caregivers.

“We believe that they are impacted by this disease just as much,” says ROM executive director and founder Michael LaHote, a stage 4 cancer patient.

To date, Pioneer’s donation is the largest amount ROM has received.

“This means a great deal to Ribbons of Monroe and to the community. As ROM is growing and more and more members of our community learn about us, our needs for funding, in order to provide the support and services, must grow as well,” LaHote said. “We depend solely on fundraisers, grants, and donations in order to do what we do.”
