TechTalk: Luke Leonard, Heatmax Heaters

Luke Leonard is the President of Heatmax Heaters in Cleveland, Ohio, which makes industrial heating products for the finishing industry.

The company was founded in 1952 as Glo-Quartz by George Strokes, a former Navy engineer, in Euclid, Ohio. In 2020, the company was rebranded as Heatmax Heaters.

Leonard talks about how Heatmax Heaters have been manufacturing electric immersion heaters for the metal finishing industry for over 70 years. Drawing on this experience —  as well as platers’ feedback — Heatmax has upgraded its range with new features to meet the metal plating industry's needs.

In this video, Leonard discusses several new features of their metal plating heater range, including:

  1. Expanded Thermal Protector Range: The addition of replaceable thermal protectors to Heatmax’s existing range of resettable thermal protectors makes our heaters compatible with widely used existing control setups in the metal plating industry.
  2. Advanced Terminal Enclosure for Greater Durability: Each metal plating heater has a newly designed polypropylene, vapor-proof, flame-retardant terminal enclosure, ensuring high performance in the harshest metal finishing environments.
  3. UL/CSA Listed for Added Assurance: UL has tested our metal plating heater range and has been awarded the UL/CSA Listed Certification. UL/CSA is the standard for safety and quality in electrical equipment.
