High Performance Metal Finishing in Portage, Michigan, has acquired Kepco, a Vicksburg, MI, metal-finishing company.
Bill HochstetlerKepco, founded in 1983 as Kalamazoo Electropolishing Company, specializes in electropolishing, passivation, and cleaning of stainless steel parts, fittings, and vessels. The firm serves clients across industries, including automotive, medical, aerospace, and water purification.
High Performance Metal Finishing provides electropolishing, passivation, media blasting, and powder coating services. The company says this strategic expansion increases High Performance’s production capacity, enhances its technical depth, and strengthens its ability to support customers with a broader spectrum of electropolishing and passivation solutions.
“The combined expertise and capabilities of both organizations position the company to deliver an elevated level of service, quality, and lead-time to manufacturers across the region,” High Performance Metal Finishing officials say in a new release.
Jon Bowers started Kepco. The current President, Bill Hochstetler, joined the company in 1989 as General Manager and purchased it in 1997. In 2004, he purchased a new property and relocated the company from Portage to Vicksburg, moving into a new 25,000 sq. ft. building.
High Performance Metal Finishing operates in a 50,000 sq. ft. facility. Pat Greene is the President and CEO.
Generational Group, a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm for privately held businesses, helped in the sale. Michael Goss, Generational Group Executive Managing Director, M&A, Central Region, and his team of Generational Affiliate Joe Hige and Vice President of M&A Brennon Dunbar, successfully closed the deal. Ruben Olm, Senior Managing Director, and Ken Beckrich, Senior M&A Advisor, established the initial relationship with Kepco.
“The buyer and seller worked together to create a balanced transaction for both parties and were focused on ensuring their mutual success going forward,” Hige says.
