IGCS International, a provider of mission support and maintenance, repair, and operations supplies to the U.S. Department of War and federal agencies, says that Lacks Enterprises has acquired an equity stake in the company.
The strategic investment combines IGCS International’s expertise in government supply chain alignment, logistics, and MRO solutions — including multiple multi-million dollar Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA), Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), and other contract vehicles with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Army commands — with Lacks Enterprises’ advanced manufacturing capabilities.
The companies say they will introduce high-performance automotive technologies, including electroplating, injection molding, composites, and innovative lightweight materials such as Lacks Carbon Fiber, to the aerospace, defense, and broader government sectors.
Russ Spears“IGCS has built a strong track record supporting the Department of Defense and federal customers with reliable MRO supplies, logistics, and supply chain solutions across aerospace, fleet, marine, and industrial applications,” says Russ Spears, President of IGCS International. “Our established contract vehicles enable rapid and reliable delivery of mission-critical solutions. Partnering with Lacks Enterprises allows us to integrate cutting-edge manufacturing innovation into our offerings, delivering lighter, stronger, and more efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of government and defense missions.”
Founded in 1961 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lacks Enterprises is a family-owned, U.S.-based global leader in advanced manufacturing with more than six decades of expertise in polymer chemistry, chrome plating on plastics, injection molding, metal finishing, and high-performance composites.
The company’s Lacks Carbon Fiber division produces ultra-lightweight two-piece carbon fiber wheels and components that significantly reduce weight while enhancing performance, durability, and efficiency — capabilities now positioned to benefit aerospace and government applications.
Nick Hrnyak“This investment represents a powerful alignment of strengths,” says Nick Hrynak, CEO of Lacks Enterprises. “By combining Lacks’ manufacturing excellence with IGCS’s deep understanding of federal requirements and supply chain execution, we are bringing the best of automotive innovation to critical government and aerospace sectors.”

The companies say the partnership will focus on expanding the availability of lightweight composite technologies, advanced materials, and integrated supply chain solutions to enhance mission readiness, reduce weight, improve performance, and better support the Department of War and other federal agencies.
After the investment was made, Saxon Unmanned announced that it had selected IGCS International and Lacks Enterprises to deliver high-volume, 100% US-made production of its flagship UAV platforms: Monitor VTOL, VIPER, Atlas, and Titan.
The companies say the new partnership accelerates output at IGCS’s Grand Rapids facilities — an 80,000 ft² advanced composites center, seven injection molding plants with 115+ machines (250–4,400 tons), four electroplating lines, and three high-volume painting and finishing facilities producing over 60,000 parts per day.
“Saxon Unmanned chose IGCS and Lacks for one reason: they deliver the fastest, highest-volume USA production in the industry,” says John Ferguson of Saxon Unmanned. “We will be manufacturing the Monitor VTOL, VIPER, Atlas, and Titan at scale — lighter, stronger, more affordable, and 100% American-made.”
Spears says the partnership meets the U.S.-made requirement for the government’s Drone Dominance program.
“IGCS and Lacks are proud to serve as Saxon’s high-volume production engine — and we have massive available capacity ready for more partners,” he says. “We invite every forward-thinking drone manufacturer to bring your designs to our Grand Rapids facilities and scale production faster and more affordably than ever before.”
