Hardware manufacturer Bommer Industries is selling its metal finishing plant near Gaffney, S.C. after announcing it was ceasing operation.
Bommer president Charlie Martin says it was determined in 2021 to discontinue making builders hardware supplies such as hinges, which meant they no longer needed the metal finishing operation located about 40 miles from their manufacturing plant.
“It has been operating for 35 years as a captive in house operation finishing builders’ hardware items –primarily hinges--to BHMA industry finish standards,” Martin says. “It has a stellar environmental record.”

Martin says that current production is scheduled to end within a few months, and that the staff for the metal finishing operation will be available if a buyer is found quickly.
“If someone has a very serious and definite need for a good metal finishing operation on the East Coast, then this is the operation you are looking for,” Martin says.
