Madison Lake Capital introduced UltiCoat, a single brand that brings together Scott’s Industrial Coatings and Perfection Industrial Finishing’s industrial coating and finishing operations in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.
Joaquin JQ SalasThe new national platform combines Midwest and Southwest operations to deliver end-to-end metal finishing for aerospace, defense, and industrial customers under one CEO.
The combined organization gives manufacturers and OEMs access to a broad range of finishing processes across two regions – Scott’s high-volume, large-scale industrial coating capacity in the Upper Midwest and Perfection’s aerospace- and defense-qualified metal finishing in the Southwest – under one name and one point of contact.
The rebrand reflects a broader shift in customer expectations rather than a change driven solely by the companies’ individual histories. Under UltiCoat, customers gain a single, trusted partner with national reach and a full range of finishing capabilities, backed by consistent certifications and demanding quality standards across every facility. Day-to-day operations remain unchanged: customers continue working with the same teams, at the same facilities, using the same processes, while gaining access to additional capabilities and locations to meet a broader range of needs.
Combined Capabilities
Under the UltiCoat brand, customers can access:
- Powder coating – high-volume production and specialty applications
- Liquid paint – including high-performance industrial and protective coatings
- Chemical processing – anodizing and conversion coatings
- Media blasting and surface preparation
- Cerakote application – ceramic-based protective coatings
Certifications and qualifications (site- and process specific)
- AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 Certified
- Nadcap accredited
- ITAR registered
- Cerakote certified applicator
- Approved supplier to defense primes including BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Honeywell Aerospace
- Approved supplier to commercial companies including Caterpillar and Oshkosh Corporation
“Bringing these two companies together under UltiCoat gives our customers something neither of us could offer alone,” says Joaquin “JQ” Salas, CEO, UltiCoat. “A manufacturer that needed powder coat in Wisconsin and anodizing in Arizona was managing two vendors and two qualification processes. Now that’s one relationship, with the same people they already know doing the work.
“The certifications our teams have built over the years – AS9100D, Nadcap, ITAR – are difficult to earn and harder to maintain, and they’re what let us serve commercial, aerospace and defense customers with confidence,” Salas continued. “Those qualifications now sit alongside a Midwest operation with large-scale finishing capacity. For customers in demanding markets, that combination matters.”
UltiCoat operates three facilities across Wisconsin and Arizona, including 64,000 square feet of coating operations in Green Bay, 32,000 in Phoenix and 15,000 in Tucson. Scott’s Industrial Coatings was established in 2000 and grew from a single pole shed to its current footprint. Perfection Industrial Finishing traces its origins to a Tucson garage paint shop in 1991 and has served manufacturers across Southern Arizona since.
The Midwest and Southwest footprint shortens freight lanes for customers on both sides of the country and adds capacity and redundancy across the network.
UltiCoat serves manufacturers and OEMs in defense, aerospace, marine, transportation, energy, fire and rescue, construction and industrial fabrication.
