The Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) Carolina Chapter held a symposium on June 24 in Mooresville, North Carolina.

The Symposium guest speakers were:

  • Rack and Stripping, from Dennis McCardle, Executive Vice President, Kolene Corporation.
  • Robotics in Finishing, from Cody Morgan, Inside Sales & Support Specialist, FANUC America Corporation.
  • Five Top Trends in Finishing, from Tim Pennington, Editor-in-Chief, FinishingandCoating.com.

The event was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte/Mooresville.

McCardle has been with Kolene Corporation for more than 32 years, serving in a variety of customer-related capacities, including technical service and sales. In his current position as Executive Vice President, he brings great practical experience from a wide range of industries to his coworkers and customers. Dennis is very well respected as an expert in the salt bath field.

Morgan is an Inside Sales and Support Specialist at FANUC America Corporation, the leading supplier of robotic automation products specific to the paint and coatings industry in North & South America. Cody has been with FANUC for nine (9) years. In that time, he has progressed through a number of different roles, installing, programming, quoting, and selling robots within General Industries, Automotive OEM, and Tier Supplier markets. With these experiences behind him, it is apparent that powder coating applications, in terms of value and opportunity for end-users, are poised to be a prime target for automation and powder equipment suppliers.

Pennington is Editor-in-Chief of FinishingAndCoating.com, a daily news and feature article site that covers the surface finishing and powder and liquid coating industry that also has a monthly digital edition. Tim has written about and been involved in the finishing and coating industry since 2010 and has attended and presented at numerous conferences and trade shows for more than a decade. Prior to joining the finishing industry, Tim held reporting, and editing positions at several major newspapers, worked at marketing and public relations firms and also was the Director of Communication at a PGA Tour event.
