The FABTECH show in Chicago will have numerous educational sessions on powder coating automation, including a session on “Controlling the Process.’
Jeff HaleJeff Hale, Director of Marketing at Gema USA, will present on September 14 at 8:00 a.m. along with John Claman, IntelliFinishing Sales and Kasa Marketing Supervisor.
Hale’s presentation is “Metrics on the Screen Go Round and Round, Round and Round …All Day Long!” As more companies are seeking how they can control, monitor and operate their powder coating systems by using technology incorporating machine communication and data acquisition, Hale’s presentation will outline what type of information, dashboards and metrics may be gathered and utilized to improve performance.
With 34 years of service and a variety of positions — engineering, product management, territory sales, sales and distribution management, and marketing — Hale has authored numerous presentations and articles on the powder coating process. He is an 1987 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology), a United States Patent holder, and member of CCAI and PCI.
John ClamanClaman’s presentation is “Examples of Finishing SCADA Systems for Advanced Automated Finishing Systems.” This session will demonstrate advanced computer controls/operations that could be developed for any sophisticated automated system including the use of SCADA and how it could be used better in finishing. Using real system examples to show recipe control, system/carrier status, alarm options and tracking, optimal part loading/mask instructions, preventive maintenance, ERP/robotic integrations, mobile options, and reporting. This type of software control is generally seen on a power and free or friction-based conveyorized system.
Claman has worked for IntelliFinishing since 2017, providing the most flexible automated finishing systems in the industry. Before IntelliFinishing, he worked in sales for IntelliFinishing’s parent company, Kasa Controls and Automation. Prior to Kasa, Claman worked for 25-plus years in marketing, marketing research, data analytics, and sales.
