Torch Surface Technology, a division of Hubbard-Hall, says its Eco-Quest is a revolutionary advanced bonding and anti-corrosion treatment for all metals.
Torch’s Mark Miller says the product is formulated to replace conventional iron or zinc phosphate products in pretreatment applications with outstanding performance. He says this unique process will provide significant cost-saving advantages by reducing energy consumption and disposal costs, improving process performance, and eliminating phosphates and related chemicals from the process.
“The Eco-Quest line offers a lot of versatility, and not only in just performance,” Miller says. “As a phosphate-free process, it’s a drop in replacements to the iron phosphate and zinc phosphate applications that are out there.”
Miller points out a few key features:
- Environmentally friendly as it is non-hazardous, biodegradable, and has a moderate pH.
- Phosphate Free.
- Improved salt spray performance by up to 1,000 hours.
- Reduced total processing cost of up to 50% versus iron phosphate.
- Has ambient temperature operation capabilities and reduced energy expense.
- Zero chemical sludging for reduced maintenance and downtime.
- Reduced waste, so there is no dumping and no chemical by-product sludge.
“It’s a tremendous burden on shops to put in a waste treatment system to treat for these specifically heavy metals and phosphates,” Miller says. “Eco-Quest is environmentally friendly, and it provides all the durability that the customer would be looking for long-term, specific to the part performance.”
