Freedom Metal Finishing in Clearwater, Florida, has acquired United Metal Finishing in North Carolina.
Freedom owner Keith Eidschun says the acquisition fits into his strategic plan of expanding to other locations in the Southeast part of the U.S.
“United is a well-run operation that offers a lot of finishing processes that manufacturers are seeking,” he says. “This additional location will help us broaden our reach across much of the South and provide us with additional capacity."
United Metal Finishing is in Greensboro and was founded in 1985 to offer barrel zinc plating, but has expanded to provide aluminum anodizing and chemical conversion, passivation, rack, and barrel zinc in clear, yellow, or black, as well as electroless nickel, hard chrome, bright nickel, phosphating, surface blasting, sanding, and polishing.
UMF has about 250 customers, including made manufacturers, fabricators, and machine shops. Its approvals include. ASTM B633, MIL-A-8625E, MIL-C-5541, MIL-DTL-5541, and MIL-C-26074D. Their team includes 22 employees with an average tenure of 14 years. They operate out of a 25,000-square-foot facility that includes processing and warehousing space.
